Ways To Give
Your support means the world.
Big or small, every ounce of support helps change lives for the better.
The heart of PHILLIPS Programs is the embodied by the community of people who support it. The teachers, staff, volunteers, donors, and the public and private partners and sponsors. They give their knowledge, skills, resources and love to enable us to surmount every challenge that we encounter.
Together, we are unstoppable.
The world might look at young people with behavioral issues as difficult, but the PHILLIPS community shows us time and time again that there are those of us who are here to challenge the status quo and ready to make the world a better place for everyone. No matter where we all start from!

Invest in the life of a child today.
Your gift to PHILLIPS helps us fulfill our promise of CHILDREN-COMMUNITY-COMMITMENT. Make a powerful impact in the lives of our clients across Northern Virginia, Maryland and D.C.
91 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to our children.

Our first school was located in a small house on Chain Bridge Road in McLean. The Chain Bridge also represents our services, bridging the gap to the entire DC metropolitan region. The Chain Bridge Giving Circle (CBGC) helps PHILLIPS foster its tradition of philanthropy by recognizing its most generous supporters. The CBGC recognizes members on an annual basis.

Planned gifts will help secure our future. You or your family may want to make a generous gift to PHILLIPS Programs for Children and Families but retain the right to income from an asset for a specific period of time. There are ways to provide the donor with the maximum income and tax advantages for years to come, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss the options with you. Examples of such gifts include charitable remainder trusts, pooled income funds, charitable lead annuity trusts, and life insurance policies.
Gifts of real estate or tangible property such as collections, stamps, antiques or works of art and many other options are available through our planned giving program. Please notify PHILLIPS Programs Development Department at (703) 941-8810.

Hope. That is the word that parents use to describe PHILLIPS. For the first time in their child's life, they have hope for their future. It's because we never give up on them. PHILLIPS' Circle of Hope monthly donors are united by their commitment to our critical mission: helping children overcome adversity. Your steadfast support ensures that PHILLIPS can provide the programs and support that our youth need to thrive.
Wrap a circle of hope around the children and families we serve by making your first monthly gift today.

A gift of appreciated securities held for more than one year may provide significant benefits to you as a contributor, such as:
Entitling you to a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of the gifted securities as of the date of the gift. Eliminating capital gains tax that would ordinarily become due if you had sold the appreciated securities on the open market and donated the proceeds from the sale to charity.
Claiming your charitable deduction against up to 30% of your adjusted gross income. Any unused deductions can be carried forward over the next five years. Providing a way to help you to achieve your long-term financial objective of reducing your income and estate taxes.
If you have securities that have declined in value over the years and are interested in donating them to charity, you may find it more advantageous to sell the securities first and contribute the proceeds to charity instead of donating the securities outright. This strategy should allow you to claim a deduction for both the loss from the sale of the securities and the charitable gift.
